When Chris realized that David was an actor, he had him audition for the lead role in Illumination Cinema's first feature, Living After Midnight (2016). After becoming friends with Tyler and Chris on set, they kept in touch and continued to collaborate as an actor and consultant on their scripts. Thus, David became a part of Illumination Cinema. Aside from frequently acting, producing and consulting on studio's projects, David has also taken on the position of the company's CFO.
